As the bill stands now, An Id is sufficient at the polls. Where you need to prove your citizen is when you register to vote. An Id and birth certificate or a passport is required then. If you are already registered you don’t have to anything except show an ID at the polls.

If the SAVE/SAVE America Act passes, will a standard driver’s licence be sufficient when at the polls to vote, or is proof of citizenship again required at the polls, which a DL is not, in about 45 states. I am not opposed to a voter ID law, but it seems impossible to find an honest, non-sensationalized argument about what will truly be required. How about actually addressing the real concerns?
