So often the author they have in to discuss these stories ruins any interest I would have in the original authors work The discussions had at the end about all of the New Yorker stories in this whole podcast series is very valuable, and I always enjoy that part even if I donāt like the narration, but I couldnāt even finish this one because I was so put off by her flat and absolutely boring delivery. A shame

Iāve been listening to this podcast since itās inception, and itās wonderful... However, the real fly in the ointment is the often poor to TERRIBLE narration by the authors they invite on to read and discuss the story. This one is particularly bad. Good lord, she sound like sheās one of those old Western movie imitations of a Native American. Plus, sheās highschool class, read-aloud quality overall. A huge bummer, it ruins the story.
I love the readers voice. I enjoyed the reading
I liked the pace of the story and the way it was narrated
all time favourite, and two of my all time favourites !!!
Dont like the readers voice but their dialogue about the book is good
I did not like the way the story was discussed. It might be my not native English but I would love to know what was really behind the story, not someone's feelings and guesses. The audio was a pleasure to listen to anyway.
This is a favorite podcast for me, and I am so happy to hear the comments about the selection and the later discussion of the story. I get to discover new,to me, stories. The New Yorker fiction is my reason for subscribing. Thank you, Deborah Treisman!
