It pulled all history strings together: past, current, & future. Each affecting our lives without knowing it & not always how. This let's us make the necessary sacrifices for a more perfect world & family.

Love this segment because its like the Black woman anthem. It explains why Black women have to Warriors even when we don't want to be. Black Women have to save self first to produce a win in the fight they must have at some point in their lifetime.

Whooo. Y'all. I had to take y'alls advice from a few weeks back and watch an episode of living single after this one. Best episode yet, but that shit put me in a dark place.

I'm Black. I'm a nerd. Y'all understand how it feels to obsess over a piece of media and wish the protagonists look like you. My first obsession has always been the Indiana Jones franchise. Always loved it since I was a little kid, and now Lovecraft Country nailed episode 4 in the same genre. I finally got my Black "Raiders of the Lost Ark". Anyway this is entirely too long of a post for a Podbean review, but thanks for doing this podcast, y'all are the best LcC resource out there.

Is one of you from NPR? Sure sounds familiar. I did not know about “Sundown” “Laws” and I did not believe the beginning of The Watchmen TV series showing the 1921 TULSA riots ... so much monsters are still hiding in plain sight... thanks for following the show!

They have not said the year but Korean War was 1950 to 1953. So probably 1954 or 1955. I was born in 1962 and do not feel the 1950’s as a great time in USA. A huge conformist and extremely oppressive of blacks, Hispanics and others culture was crushing to Free Thinkers. This show is just fantastic and reminds me of “A Cabin in the Woods” movie. Monsters are everywhere.
