Steve thank you for bringing Anthony seldon book to us. it is clear that UK is on the cusp of either big progressive or sinking in to further on equality and entitlement

”We haven’t got the single market...” This is why I KEEP saying Starmer should stop making these blanket dogmatic pledges. It’s stupid and doesn’t allow enough wiggle room.

Thanks for mentioning the 2017 GE. People seem to forget that, under Corbyn, Labour near WON & May had to buy the DUP’s support to carry on.

I notice that even good interviewers who leave, like Maitlis, Sopel & Lewis (whose last name escapes me, sorry) haven’t quite yet been able to shake off BBC style. They still butt in, leave too little time for subjects to speak &c. It’s one reason their podcast is not among those I always listen to.

Very interesting analysis, thanks. That pic of Johnson is truly disturbing though!

My totally anti-Brexit MiL STILL loves Johnson. Won’t hear a word against him. Thinks he’s done his best. I can’t discuss it with her for fear of a permanent rift. But I’m completely baffled.

Very informative interview with L Nandy. I also heard a long interview with Starmer at Davos on another podcast. I have read Gordon Brown’s plan for devolved power and Lords reform. Taken together, like one of your other listeners I felt a ping of optimism for the first time in years. I call myself a PHAD - Politically Homeless and Disillusioned. If Starmer can convince people like me the hard left will be kept down and of no single market rejoin he has a good chance of ousting this shower.

A car crash Premier called Truss Threw her Chancellor under the bus. The man’s big mistake was a budget half-baked And believing in Truss he could trust.

I’d started listening to this podcast due to the Radio Times clocking it as a political podcast to consider. Enjoyed Steve Richards output (e.g. columns; books; BBC Parliament programmes) for several years now.
