Loved it! Set rules, enforce the co sequences. Don’t buy teens things they should be earning.

Don’t argue with teens, set rules and enforce them. State what rule they broke and enforce the consequence.

Children should have awe and respect for their parents and rules. Not out of fear; out of Obedience to expectations that if the child doesn’t do their jobs they will loose their phone or other priviledges.

Culturally people think they have to be happy and fulfilled all the time, in a selfish way that keeps them from teaching their children . Most if the quality of life comes from personal sacrifice. Don’t be afraid to listen to kids complain about the rules. Don’t defend your kids rude, bad behavior. Discuss the people of good character that we know and want to emulate. The 60’s theory that women don’t want marriage and kids derailed society. Children should work for everything, not feel entitled.

The brain can only think one thought at a time. As parents we have a tremendous power. Therefore when the kids are playing, coaching, comments etc are distracting and their brain now has shifted away from the game.
