There is no season! The series started after WW2 as a vehicle for disseminating information about best practice in agriculture.

@slow but sure : There isn’t a series or a season. The programme is a continuously running radio drama and therefore it is one long series since it’s first episode in the 50’s. Great to know you are enjoying it.

How many days are they on

I have never understood the pull of the archer's but after the bbc woman's hour archer's 70 year celebration I looked at it with a whole new understanding. I'm finding it a delight. Being an expat living alone in lockdown the cast can't begin to imagine how comforting it is. Very good company.

Again with the drinking sound affects....please stop them....

totally addicted and am so happy with the insightful perspective provided by the change to the subjective rather than the interactive presentation of everyone's lives due to the virus. Hope all the cast and crew are in good health. I live on a small organic farm in Australia and value and find totally interesting this perspective on farming life and community.

@Great13guy : That sounds great but I want to listen to from the beginning of this series someone knows where to find the first season ?

Sorry so addicted to all of it. Whilst working I listen and re listen.

Don't have sound affects of people eating and drinking it's annoying.

The Archers started in 1951. I've been listening since 1987. Go to BBC radio 4 website. There is a Catch-up you can go back pretty far; also you will find special series about character background.

I wonder why so many people like this series over time? I personally love the community, family intimacy and country life. I live in Australia but my Grandparents were from Durham and emigrated here in the early 1900's. My curiousity about English culture and agriculture is alive.

I've been listening since my sickbed about 1958 and have listened daily since then with a few gaps. Since living in Alaska US, they have been my UK daily reference for more than 50 years and though occasionally inane, I think this first ever soap will also be a final companion.
