What great concepts: non-dual thinking, religion evolves, wisdom, choose life. Potential Lenten contemplation. Thank you.

Iā€™m neither Catholic nor Protestant. I know Christ is Jesusā€™s title. This is cosmological truth. Colossians 1:15-18; John 1:1-5 (Itā€™s the most wonderful news ever). Why canā€™t people see this? Because they read through a lens of parochialism. Stop that. Christ isnā€™t inside the Bible. PERIOD. Look at the stars

Wow! This is exactly what I have been feeling God has been speaking to me lately. Same theme/ideas.

I almost didnā€™t listen to Richardā€™s audiobook because I was about hopeless that there was a God that I did faintly recollect or recognise very strongly as awesome as a child. Assuming the worst and coming to conclusions way too quickly used to be my standard operating procedure. (Still is a tendency). I was baptised at 16 largely from a fearful threat and so as to avoid hell. Seems weā€™ve got the whole show from A to Zed backwards. ā€œSeek you first the kingdom of God and the rest will be icing on the cake.ā€ -Jesus (Matthew 6:33). But I strongly suspect that the majority of us just skimmed over that and thought it meant (if we thought to think about what it really meant) we should settle this heaven OR hell issue by baptism, church attendance, denominational belongingness to a schism (split, cleft, torn apart, division), obligatory and highly conditioned based and taught tithing (Protestants love ā€œIf you give this, youā€™ll get that,ā€), bible studying with little to no inner transformative insights, an incessant checking of oneā€™s undulating moral pulse, a tacit agreement to cease bad behaviours via ā€˜repentanceā€™ without having a clue about ā€˜metanoiaā€™ which is to FIRST drop the cultural conditioning and thus practice changing oneā€™s mental misperceptions, an activity based busyness wherein external pulling of splinters seems preferable over any inner Holy Spirit observation whatsoever (indeed, the Holy Spirit is almost invariably ignored if ever mentioned), a beating of the horse to death about ā€œabusing graceā€ and not using grace as a ā€œlicense to sin,ā€ (as though anyone has ever or will ever need a license or passport or whatnot to ā€˜sinā€™ or rather Miss the Point. And this heady, intellectually airy abstractions and conceptualised dogma as specifically taught and even encouraged by both the Presbyterian and Calvinism schisms regarding their proud denominational proclamation of being a church solely focused on the mind.
