Al is a great interviewer and asks insightful questions! I appreciate Dr. Horowitz’s evidenced-based findings on SSRI’s along with his personal experience (Al’s too!)

If ECT is ever offered to treat your mental health issue see sites ectjustice.com and ectjustice.net as these sites talk of the law suits taking place around the brain injuries from ECT. Increased risk for suicide after ECT.

I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Curious if you could give me some details about WHAT it is that’s getting old. I’ve changed up the show recently from exclusively lived experiences to now include deep dive conversations with guest experts. I’ve, thus far, included guest experts discussing the topics of suicide, bipolar disorder, accelerated TMS, ECT, psychedelics, ketamine, CBT-I, and more. Would love more of your thoughts and what you might be looking for. Thanks for listening!

@elisebarrus : Right. Right. I appreciate this podcast so far but this is getting old!

Those that deal with brain injury and neuroscience that recognize electrical mechanism of trauma as inducement of TBI at minimum, how is it providers allow this to continue in the increased use of ECT/ electroshock? CA courts have proved brain injuries now and CTE is described as risk in long term outcomes along with ALS as electrical trauma evolves over time, yet interests of patients are ignored for great profits at vulnerable patients expense. Mindy...it was great to interview you. You’ve been such an advocate around mental health. You’re an incredible role model and such an incredible support for your son, Jim. I hope your book sells millions because I know that, too, will support so many! Thanks for joining me on The Depression Files! Al

@Mindy : Al Levin does a beautiful job of helping people share their stories about mental illness which in turn helps other people. I was honored to be one of his guests to talk about my new book that chronicles our family's story dealing with son Jim's schizophrenia. It was cathartic to do and I hope many more people will share their stories.

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. Eric 13 was one of my first interviews. Glad to see some of the oldies getting the attention these guests deserve🙂. Everybody has different ways to deal w/their depression. I was surprised to hear of Eric, also, working on a movie with a central topic of depression while dealing w/his own depression. I appreciated how open he was w/his staff & how supportive they had been. Thank you for listing to The Depression Files & for sharing your thoughts!

@emisuno : I found it depressive how strongly Eric is emmersed in depression subject. Personally part of management of depression for me means staying out of any movies or music that drops my mood. Being aware of what feelings it evokes. Not associating with depression but with anything and everything that is not depression. Similarly to Eric I've had low mood all my life. Now I am happy to report I manage my mood most of the year.
