O Peter: this eve of Advent II, I’ve appreciated your valuing of Advent…the tradition I’ll never drop from my Decembers, I really prefer lingering in Advent, feeling hardly ready to celebrate the 12 days of Christmastide…as I await the more meaningful to me Epiphany season of reflecting LIGHT! My Advent hopes: swords transformed to ploughshares-the end of revengeful hate-filled violence in Gaza; a just transition from fossil fuel production to sustainable, renewal energy sources!

Words for a painful time. When it didn’t feel like any would suffice...

I just am turned off when I hear, in a sermon or what I feel a weekly inspirational message, refer to a "controversial political issue " which was done several times in your message. Can't we hear a message that fills us full of love, inspiration, and a desire to go out and do what the Lord wants us to?

I'm challenged to pray this week for my family that we will be looking for opportunities to be a neighbor. That we won't be asking questions but getting to the task of being a neighbor.
