We found our way there eventually and oh boy...

@Indy : Just found this podcast and binged so hard since I have nothing better to do with the quarantine. If you want a super sexist fairy tale, try King Thrushbeard! Aka my least favorite Grimm tale.

Wow I’d say that about clears that up! Thank you!

@BJ : If I remember correctly, most beef that people consume is from steers. Since meat from a female cow is "not tender enough" I imagine that meat from female cows is not commonly eaten

No way! I will have to prepare that for when we watch the film. Glad you enjoyed the episode.

@Theartofdreaming1 : Lovely and interesting as always! Funny side note because you guys mentioned "everybody wanting a piece of that snow white pie" - Snow White Cake is actually a dessert in Germany! With a dark chocolate glaze, cherries and (vanilla) butter cream for the black/red/white color scheme (similarly, Red Riding Hood cake is also a thing here - with a bright red cherry topping, of course!)

Do you think there's any correlation between children stories back then vs now and how children grow up to either be independent or extremely dependent to the point of staying with their parents into mid adulthood?

Hans is pronounced more like hunts with a soft t sound. It was my grandpa’s name. Cudgel is like a bat or stick and combed his hair means hit on the head

I think the “warm mouth” comment is meant to be the storyteller saying “my mouth is dry from talking, give me a beer to pay me for my story”.
