Social media is a great thing, an incredible, powerful tool. Of course it can't replace in-person interaction! Humans have a need on the chemical, neurological level, to have interaction at close range. Communication happens on more than the verbal and visual level, it happens in scent we often aren't even consciously aware we are receiving. It happens hormonally. It's a part of evolution, and that won't change overnight.
