Wow, fellow drummer from UK, I never thought I’d hear everything I’ve learned and rabbit hole adventures over the last 3 plus years, be confirmed by you VC. So sad to hear Pete’s story but relieved to hear you’ve bounced back.. I’ve met so many ‘Awake’ and like minded people and can say there are many of us out there.

I was just thinking about the idea of needing and knowing boundaries to experience freedom earlier today. When listening to this episode and your commentary on society it makes me think that there is too much ”freedom” of individualism -especially for the young- to value the freedoms that society offers. Thus more prone to just give those freedoms away, accepting the oppression as a welcome yoke to guide... engineering of consent.

This was a fantastic episode. I just wanted to not that Omaha Nebraska has more talent than you’re giving it credit for (I don’t live there). I happen to know that there are world class musicians in both the Jazz and Classical department of University of Nebraska doing work that does push artistic boundaries. Omaha is also the home of (former Chicago native) Jackie Allen, a world renowned jazz vocalist. Anyway I guess that just furthers the point being made in the episode. Great music all over!

I learned so much from this and I found the information about the effect of drums on the immune system fascinating. This is something I really need to look into.

Vinnie, it was great to listening to you and Mr. Ted Gioia. Yes, drums are very powerful and there are certain periods in the music composition, where we can hear that there are no drums in the music in symphonies etc.. Because, the drums where used in wars, in those periods. So, the music it was less punctuated, from a percussion standpoint side. Interesting discussion what you and Mr. Gioia. Thank you again, Be well, —Sal

It’s sadly a different world. I have the confidence to take rejection . Just need an opportunity to discover an audition. Just can’t find a reliable source. Not practical to pick up and move to LA, Nashville or NYC without a valid support system. Where can i pack a drum set up and move to ? I would be robbed blind in moments. Guess i gotta do more videos on social media. So sad. I was born to late 1973. I still believe 🙏

I ”resolved ” my thoughts of idea’s of fantastical performances recording songs for a artist i track for. Keeping it simple WORKS. Homogeneity has forced most modern music in any style , to be bigger faster stronger which I don’t subscribe to that BES

Hi Vinnie - today was the first day I had the opportunity to check out your podcast, and it was on resolve. My early years of study were in Boston, I have the privilege of being able to study drum sent from above the sixth grade on. I studied with a guy, Bill Viscomi, who had studied with Alan Dawson, and then I went on to study with Alan. Bill always broadly used to say 90 percent of drumming. (or successfully doing anything) is “drive” - which you likewise breakdown to resolve. 😎👍

Vinnie speaks what is lying in my subconscious and smatters it with his own, unique eloquence. There’s quite a lesson to had in this episode and a clear message for us all to think rationally beyond the limits of partisanship. I’ll never be able to play drums like Vinnie - and he wouldn’t want me or any of us to try to, preferring us to find our own voices. But it warms me to know there is solidarity with his thoughts which helps me to clear the overgrown pathways in my own mind.
