It’s a real interesting game

@Konradleijon : Guys I'm wondering if you can do a episode talking about Changling: the lost. And what you can take for changing the dreaming.i know you dislike its themes. But lots of people love the themes of surviving trauma and community building.

I guess so. As a autistic person the Changling could be taken as a metaphor for neroudivregent

@walkingawayfromarcadia : There is a very strong case for this. I think it depends on if you're playing diaspora or indigenous far.

I don’t see why Balor being ageist is bad. Their suppose to Fomori agents and the bad guys

Connecting Kubera's love of money to bonsais was good. I also thought of the Dutch tulip bulb craze in New Amsterdam and New York. I'm sure there could be a connection in WoD.

Solid review. Was happy to listen to Katherine's critiques. Looking forward to check out bootstraps. Wish there was a link in the bio but I am sure I can find it.

Is Arcadia the Moon and/or vice versa? It is mentioned in 1st ed Mage. Thinking of the Insect Races and the implication of the Weaver in the destruction of life on the moon while the Insect races were around. Also, have you used Munchausen in your games?

I personally have a lot of issues with MET:CtD but your assessment was fair and the praises you gave were valid ones.

Thank you for this live play. I have enjoyed many of your sessions which cover ChAngeling the Dreaming and I appreciate the effort you put into explaining the setting and it’s books! Particularly the sidhe and problematic nobility/sovereign dynamics!🥳

The chronological is kind of missed up as the Roman Empire was Christen for it's last few centuries

Honestly the main reason I find Gwydion an odd choice for the House name isn't that he's an awful person (I mean House Gwydion is full of assholes) it's that the mythological figure is a powerful sorceror and basically a trickster. He's always escaping consequences thanks to creative use of magical skill or breaking oaths and curses with letter vs spirit trickiness. He would have made a lot more sense as head of a house like Eiluned. Meanwhile Eiluned is a Welsh name with no particular mythological significance that I'm familiar with who is for some reason the sister of Ailil - an Irish name. If they wanted a moon- and-magic associated Welsh mythic lady, I mean Rhiannon is RIGHT THERE. I mean it's nice to see Welsh myth showing up (usually the Irish get all the attention!) but it really was a series if odd choices. Which is definitely me going off on a tangent but it's a rare section I feel qualified to weigh in on! I did find the run down of the real world shifts and pivots interesting though. Made me realise I was doing a fair amount of memory editing (like "oh but I'm sure the Menehune didn't literally boy believe ARCADIA would never close. Surely they just meant like... the deep dreaming RIGHT?") without really considering that no, there were definite textual shifts in play as times and authors changed.

That's in every write-up of house Liam. It's in C20 and is central to their chapter in Book of Houses.

@Konradleijon : About your sidhe video where did you get House Liam being the christen house?

Where did you get House Liam as the christen house? In their original write up that was a part of it, but it was mostly their hard on for humanity

long time listener, recent subscriber. you guys are the best changeling related media out there and I eagerly look forward to new episodes.

We understand. With as incomplete as DA:F is it's difficult enough to find the links to CtD, nevermind how that works together with the other lines' DA products.

@lostkith : This was an excellent episode! The connections between the Dreaming and Exalted were expected an welcomed! I was however saddened that you didn't weave (<==see what I did?) any story elements or plot hooks with the other Dark Ages games... oh well. It was amazing anyway, keep up the great job all!!

@lostkith : Amazing episode! Love the ravaging and musing of both negative and positive emotions! Dont know why I never thought of it! Thank You!

Oh, that's entirely possible. I've never read Kafka, so my familiarity with it is only through cultural osmosis.

@ᎪᎳᏄ Kholan : Do you think a lot of kafka's work is emblematic of that structural horror that the YouTube video was expressing? I am thinking of stories like the colony.

A quick note about satyrs, the Greek ideals that could be reflected in the Seder is not the metropolitan Greek of Athens nor the warrior of Sparta. It is the priestess of the Dionysus and mysteries. It is in the rural traditions of the deep Macedonian forests.

Love the podcast - having a great time catching up. Even when I don't agree (and I often do) your perspectives are interesting and well-articulated. I did have a specific comment about your final note on David? 1) I don't think his previous Seelie characterisation is necessarily relevant in C20. He's pretty clearly a broken man if not actively someone's puppet. 2) I didn't take the comment about a potential sidhe child as that being an active plan so much as a Romantic Notion. It read more to me as an explanation that Lenore's status as heir *would* be supplanted by this notional sidhe child, not that there was an active expectation of one appearing? Then again I could be retconning my own memory of the passage since - as you say - that's... not how any of this has ever worked. (Also your pronunciation of "Gwydion" is pretty good! Eiluned is ay-LEE-ned though. Rhymes with "Hey, Meat-Head"... It's a Welsh name and I'm a Welsh speaker.)

Too short an episode!! I do believe in the 2nd edition storytellers secrets book they give you a motley to play, along with the first Immortal Eyes book. Don't know if that helps.... Otherwise, keep up the amazing job gyys!

love the show. been playing this game since 1st edition and I still have my bunk cards. I am thinking about starting a wraith centered podcast and could use the help with the tech and logistics. let me know how I could help.

Amazing! Insightful and educational! Thank you for doing this episode. I do believe your missing a few viewpoints on the broad look of all fae history, but I think you nailed it all the same. I do believe that the Irish have the same level of belief an reverence for their myths that indigenous communities have, especially those deeply involved in their Celtic culture. I would love to see you tackle the Ireland far specifically at some point. Party on dudes and be excellent to one another!
