”I see dead animals.” A Halloween Tail follows the curious life of Luke, a self-proclaimed ordinary cocker spaniel with an extraordinary gift — he can see deceased pets and read their devilish minds. Each episode delves deeper as a mystery unravels, with simple-minded Luke remaining desperate to protect his ”people” from Peaches and Sparks, the ghostly Dog and Cat that are plotting to kill Luke’s family. Sometime funny, sometimes scary, mostly goofy, this six-part adventure allows Luke to tell of his first-canine encounters with warmth and humor, as listeners are invited to ponder the possibilities of what pets think about life beyond simple loyalty, with Luke contemplating his ultimate purpose: protect his family, or die trying. Parents, listen before you share with small children. Some content may not be appropriate for little ones.
Welcome to the either/or podcast, the show where smart people debate trivial things! Hosts Steve Baldwin and Chris Evans welcome guest experts to debate the questions that have plagued humanity for generations, such as which is better: Dogs or cats? Bourbon or Scotch? Pie or Cake? Sean Connery or Daniel Craig? You decide by voting for your favorite via the link in each episode's show notes. You must choose...but choose wisely. The fate of pie, cake, and all of humanity may depend on it!
Stories--when told well--entertain us, enthrall us, captivate us. At times, however, they provide far more—commenting on the world, defining our society, revealing our origins or our future. Sometimes, stories are deeply personal—shaping who we are or who we aim to be. In the Lit Matters podcast, English professor and lover of stories, Chris Evans, discusses the question of “what stories should we all be reading?” with fellow teachers, librarians, writers, musicians, professionals, students, and more. Join him in this quest to create an empowering and inclusive bookshelf for all.
