75.3 The Remakes Tribunal 1996: The Birdcage, Striptease

Continuing Issue 75 of Double Reel, the monthly magazine podcast for the discerning film nerd. Now it's time for the Remakes Tribunal, in which Alan and Deborah join James to put two films from 1996 up for judgement. First up a Remake on Trial, where we ask if it was justified to make The Birdcage, an English-language update of the 70s French comedy. Then we offer a Parole Board hearing to a film which didn't work the first time and ask if a remake would fix it's problems. Today it's the critically panned Demi Moore vehicle Striptease.
