Do you ever feel like you're carrying emotional weight that never seems to go away?
Have you ever wondered why one hard moment seems to affect the rest of your day?
Do you feel like you're carrying frustration, guilt, or disappointment long after the moment has passed?
Wish you could stop reacting from yesterday's emotions and become a more present parent today?
Wonder what it would look like to finally lay down the emotional weight you've been carrying?
Episode HighlightsIn this episode, we're taking the next step in our Emotional Regulation for Summer series by exploring what it truly means to process emotions instead of carrying them.
If you're parenting a strong-willed child or neurodivergent child with ADHD, ASD, PDA, or ODD, you know how quickly meltdowns, dysregulation, and defiant behaviors can leave you feeling emotionally drained.
We'll talk about why emotional regulation isn't about ignoring or fixing your emotions, but allowing them to move through your body so they don't become emotional baggage.
You'll discover why unprocessed emotions can make it harder to stay present, how they affect building connection with your child, and simple, practical ways to become a more present parent through present parenting.
Whether you're carrying frustration from today's meltdown or discouragement from a difficult season, this episode offers hope that peace becomes possible when you stop carrying what was never meant to stay. Mama, the Father never intended for you to carry these burdens alone.
Remember, mama, every emotion you process creates a little more room for peace, healing, and connection. You don't have to carry every burden by yourself. As you continue inviting the Holy Spirit into each hard moment, you'll discover that peace isn't found in having a perfect summer. It's found in walking with the One who carries the weight alongside you.
Faith Anchor"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." – Psalm 34:18
God never asks us to pretend we're okay. He meets us in our sadness, frustration, disappointment, and fear. As you process your emotions with Him instead of pushing them aside, you'll begin making room for His peace to take root in your heart.
Micro Shift of the WeekThis week, when you notice a strong emotion, pause before trying to fix it.
Ask yourself:
• What does this emotion feel like in my body?
• If it had a color, shape, or texture, what would it be?
Then choose one gentle way to help move that emotion through your body...a walk, stretching, crying, dancing, or simply sitting quietly with the Father. Let this be a week of curiosity, compassion, and connection instead of judgment.
