Episode 10: Genesis - The Wild and Wonderful Beginning

As the new year begins, there are a lot of amazing Bible reading plans to choose from! A lot of people read through the whole Bible in a year, which is great! But have you ever tarried in one book of the Bible for a whole year? Have you ever lingered on the pages of a single book long enough to know it’s nooks and crannies? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sit with Abraham and Jacob, hearing their stories unfold like a as long-buried treasure, uncovered piece by pace rather than hurried past?

If so, then join me in 2026 for a long meander through the book of Genesis. The reading plan is simple: one chapter each week. The goal is straightforward: discover God’s character and plan of redemption laid out in the opening book of the Bible. We’ll look through the historical and cultural lens of the Ancient Near East as we uncover the original context, the Hebrew words, and the themes woven throughout the chapters that reach across the rest of Scripture. This year we’re going back to the beginning and diving deep into the heart of Scripture. We’re not going to shy away from the hard parts of the Bible, but we’ll wrestle with them and look at them from different angles. And with the power of the Holy Spirit, we’ll grow in the knowledge of the riches of God’s Word and His heart for His people. And we’ll listen to what He has to say as He meets us in the unfolding.
