The Courage To Believe | Step Two Deep Dive March 22nd, 2026 Outreach 419
When we find the courage to believe, we discover a Power that restores us, heals us, and provides for us—no matter how far we’ve fallen.
Step 2 is about admitting that our own best thinking got us into this mess, and that we need help to get out. It takes radical courage to set aside our ego and believe that a Power greater than ourselves can restore us. If you’re struggling with what that Power looks like, the ancient names of God provide a perfect framework for the restoration journey:
El Roi: The God Who Sees Me. He doesn’t see your addiction; He sees you. You are not invisible in your pain.
Jehovah Jireh: The Lord Will Provide. When you feel empty, He provides the strength, the peace, and the resources you need.
Jehovah Rapha: The Lord Who Heals. He doesn’t just patch the wound; He heals the root trauma and brokenness.
Jehovah Shalom: The Lord Is Peace. He offers a calmness that the world, and especially recovery, cannot explain.
Believing in this kind of Power changes everything. It’s not just a religious concept; it is the ultimate "power move" for your recovery. It means you no longer have to do this alone.
Which of these four attributes do you have the hardest time believing is true for you?
