You start fuming at people in secret, keeping a scoreboard of offenses, and demanding that everyone else bow to your ego. That is not recovery. That is just a polished version of the same old chaos.

Step 10 is the daily weed barrier. It forces you to come face to face with the ugly things popping up in your heart before they turn into a monster plant that spreads seeds everywhere. If you are snapping at your spouse or trying to verbally destroy people who talk about you, your alignment is off. Real transformation requires you to drop the defensive act, eat the crow, and pull the weed the second it sprouts.
