We stand for the word of God because it is honoring. When we stand for the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance this is out of respect and honor. How much more should we stand for the reading of the Bible? An example can be found in Nehemiah 8:5, where Ezra opens the book in the sight of all people, and they stood.

It’s not commanded but it is certainly a good practice.

So let us stand for the Word. At the end I will say “The word of the Lord” you will respond Thanks be to God. Because we are thankful for His word amen?
