Frank van Vree is the new Cleveringa Professor at Leiden University in Holland. The position is named after Rudolph Cleveringa, who became famous after a speech denouncing the invading Nazis' measures to remove all Jewish academics from their posts.
In van Vree’s inaugural Cleveringa Lecture, he will talk about the tensions between learning from the past and remembering the past.
