Transposons

Transposons are the mobile genetic elements present in the genome .They are able to move from one site to other site of the genome by means of an enzyme called transposase. The process is called transposition.Different mechanisms of transposition were discussed in this podcast.Also various types of transposons present in prokaryotes and eukaryotes were explained.
