Gule Sheikh shares a healthcare technologist’s perspective on healthcare on this episode of the Perspectives on Healthcare Podcast with Rob Oliver. Originally from Canada, Gule now lives in Illinois. She is a member of Generation X. As a medical technologist, she uses algorithms and artificial intelligence to improve patient outcomes.
Here are 3 things that stood out as Gule Sheikh shared a healthcare technologist’s perspective on healthcare:
· The computers and the artificial intelligence rely heavily on the providers to ascertain the correct information to input.
· Every patient represents a unique combination of race, age, education, background, experiences, orientation and more. They need to be treated as such. Population data can be predictive, but it is not guaranteed to fit everyone.
· Quality healthcare means that the patient understands all of the aspects of their care plan and is able to find answers to the questions they have about their care plan.
