"We meet the mother of Jesus in this gospel not when she gives birth to his physical body, but when she gives birth to his ministry, at the wedding in Cana. The first time we see Jesus mother in John is at the beginning of the second chapter – “on the third day there was a wedding in Cana at Galilee and the mother of Jesus was there.”'
