The Red Treehouse is dedicated to my Dad. I love you, Pop.
Join me in The Red Treehouse as I narrate a terrific classic horror story--The Premature Burial, by Edgar Allen Poe.
First published in 1844, it tells of the narrator’s fear and anxiety of being buried alive. This one has a ton of symbolism, and in an interesting twist—at least for Poe—has a surprisingly hopeful ending.
But, along the way, Poe brilliantly captures a real 19th-century phobia in what appears to be as much personal confession as short horror story.
So, sit back, turn down the lights, pull up the covers, and pay close attention as I read The Premature Burial by Edgar Allen Poe.
