The Thought Card: Travel Tips, Travel Hacking, and Personal Finance For Financially Savvy Travelers
Society & Culture:Places & Travel
Athena Valentine Lent is fighting the good fight to bring financial education to people who look like her. Her family didn’t know much about money, budgeting, or bank accounts. Then when Athena was a freshman in high school, her mother passed away. Immediately, she became a homeless teen on a rocky path.
Fortunately, her uncle inspired her to go to college, get an education, and turn her life around.
Today, Athena’s work as a program manager for a nonprofit allows her to promote the importance of education, salary negotiations, and work-related opportunities for students all over the state of Arizona, especially those in low-income neighborhoods.

More About Millennial Wealth Builders (MWB)
Co-hosted by Danielle Desir and Acquania Escarne, Millennial Wealth Builders (MWB) is a 12-part audio docuseries sharing how Women of Color are moving past obstacles and building real wealth in the 21st century.
This production is made possible by the Plutus Foundation Fall 2020 Grant, Black & Brown Podcast Collective, and the Dreams To Reality Fund by Caress and iFundWomen.
Passionate about sharing real stories and honest conversations, we exclusively feature women of color who have discovered wealth-building strategies less known in our community.
Our goal is to empower our listeners to take action, obtain wealth, and close the wealth gap. Rather than establish a new podcast, we are taking advantage of our existing engaged podcast audiences.
