In this episode, you’ll meet Guillermo, Annie, Fox, and Venerable Sumitta. Guillermo is a freshman student from Compton who never thought he would go to college, but overcame some major obstacles to get here and is very glad he did. Annie is from Taiwan and originally came to UWest to study English, then returned for graduate school in psychology. Fox is a poet from South Dakota who wanted to explore a larger world. Venerable Sumitta is a Buddhist monk from Sri Lanka who was already a college professor before becoming a student again in UWest’s PhD program in Religious Studies.
