Shafic Gawhari, the managing director of Moby Group who owns Afghanistan's #1 TV network TOLO TV, joins us from his home in Kabul, Afghanistan to tell us how he is putting his TV network back together in a Taliban-controlled country, and what daily life is like in Kabul six months after the US exit. Shafic proudly tells us how TOLO TV transformed the culture of Afghanistan when it came on the air in 2004 by showing comedy, drama, singing and more to a country where it was previously illegal to own a tv or even take a picture. In this fascinating conversation he tells us how he had to meet with/ deal with the Taliban in order to keep his TV station on the air.
