Denis Heaney - Balearic Sessions Marshall Watson Vinyl Guest Mix Sunday 26-12-21 Unknown.fm Guest Bio: Marshall Watson is a West Coast producer, composer, mix engineer, sound designer, DJ and one half of the synth-wave duo Causeway. As a recording artist, his works span nearly 20 years, beginning with his first release in 2004, The Time Was Later Than He Expected on the Sheffield label, Highpoint Lowlife. Since then he has released two full length albums, three EPs and many singles and remixes on Highpoint Lowlife, Loöq Records, Seven Villas, and recently as part of Causeway, signed to Italians Do It Better. Additionally this past year Marshall released two EPs, Sunsets on Larkin Pt 1 & 2 to London’s NuNorthern Soul label as well as being part of the NuNorthern Soul Summer Sampler Vinyl release. Historically, his works run the gamut between early 00s IDM, Progressive and Deep House, Experimental Ambient and more recently the Balearic flavors. Sunsets on Larkin Pt 1 and the Summer Sampler 3 were just named as one of Juno’s Staff pics for best of Balearic/Downtempo 2021. Look for new releases in 2022 from both Causeway and Marshall Watson. From Marshall About the mix: This mix is 100% vinyl and showcases some of the more mid to up-tempo flavors of the Balearic and Disco sound. This year has seen the release of so many Balearic and Disco leaning 110+ bpm records that I’ve loved that haven’t found a place in downtempo/ambient world, I wanted to showcase some of those in the mix. This mix features tracks from Hear & Now, LEX, Talamenca, Coyote, Cole Odin and many more modern Balearic sounds and classics sprinkled in. The mix is free, but trainwrecks are a dollar!
