For this week's episode of the Being Black and Creating Space series, we're talking to Rashan Brown. Rashan Brown aka Rush (The Mic) is a Spoken-Word Poet, Actor, Public Speaker, Executive Producer, Educator and Founder of poetry me, please. PMP is a spoken-word poetry platform that provides a stage for poets across the world to showcase their talents through creative verbal expression. Since the founding of poetry me, please in 2021, Rashan has hosted NYC's largest poetry showcases with an average of 300 attendees and ranges over 400 on a bi-monthly basis.
