For five months throughout late 1977 into early 1978 fear gripped Los Angeles as ten girls and young women were abducted and murdered by the unknown Hillside Stranglers.
All the police knew was that these women were last seen being handcuffed and put in the back of unmarked police cars by plain clothes officers. The hunt for the mysterious murderers kept the entire city on edge and their eventual capture led to the longest trial in US history.
