How did this normal Surburban mom survive this horrific nightmarish journey through the criminal justice system? In this episode, Brent Cassity interviews Lynn Espejo. Lynn grew up in a normal middle-class family and had a successful career in accounting. However, she ended up working for a group of doctors who engaged in unethical practices. Lynn was groomed by one of the doctors to participate in fraudulent activities, which eventually led to her indictment. Despite facing challenges and betrayals, Lynn remains resilient and non-judgmental, focusing on personal growth and helping others. During this part of the conversation, Lynn discusses the inappropriate behavior she experienced from a doctor at her workplace and how she overlooked it for years. She reflects on how chaotic her life was during that time and questions why she allowed a doctor with a history of inappropriate remarks and actions to treat her. She shares the challenges she faced during the legal process, including the dismissal of her first charge and the subsequent guilty verdict in her second trial. Lynn discusses her experience of voluntarily surrendering to prison. She also talks about the emotional toll leading up to her surrender. She describes the process of entering prison, including the initial intake and the kindness shown by other prisoners. Lynn also discusses her time in prison, including her involvement in teaching classes and advocating for other inmates. She shares her experience of being placed in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges she faced in the awful transport center prison. She faced further challenges when she was released with being charged with violating her probation by communicating and advocating for inmates. Despite these setbacks, Lynn remained resilient and continued to advocate for herself and others. She survived and wrote a book, https://a.co/d/i9qJ9eX Inside the Walls and Beyond. Lynn is a powerful voice with several non-profits with the reentry community. Nightmare Success Show Sponsors: White Collar Support Group prisonist.org, Autoplaza Direct.
