In early 1982, socialite Malcolm MacArthur was setting up a life with his partner, Brenda Little and their seven-year-old son in the Spanish island of Tenerife. Having run out of money but determined to hide his financial predicament he came up with a plan which would result in a double murder of two innocent people which would shock the nation. The acronym used by the Irish Taoiseach used to describe the crime, GUBU (grotesque, unbelievable, bizarre and unprecedented) would come to sum up everything that Charles Haughey and his party mishandled over the course of their tenure, and the serial killing would ultimately bring down a government in the most dramatic way imaginable.
Julie Jay chats to the hilarious and lovely Killian Sundermann. If you have enjoyed the podcast we would be so grateful if you could rate or review us wherever you listen to your podcasts and please recommend us to a friend. If you haven't enjoyed this episode, please stay off the internet.
