Attorney and bestselling author Jode Millman steps into the Interrogation Room to answer a few questions about her craft and writing. Jode earned a BA and JD from Syracuse University and an MA in English Literature from Eastern Michigan. She's since been recognized for her expertise and professional contributions to the legal and broadcasting fields, and she's served on the Adjunct Faculty at the University of Detroit Mercy Law School and Marist College. She founded the Hudson Valley Fiction Writers Workshop in 2011 and served as a Thrillerfest 19 panelist in 2017. Jode regularly contributes to Sisters In Crime's quarterly newsletter, called "InSinC."
For this episode, Jode and Writers On The Beat host Gavin Reese discussed her recent debut fiction release, THE MIDNIGHT CALL; writing legal thrillers; the guidance and help of writing mentors; the original insanity defense case that inspired her debut fiction novel; and the influence of Louise Penny and Robert Galbraith.
