Living in the age of social media has revealed our desire to be seen, followed, and even admired, by others. In fact, it’s given rise to a whole new group of people known as influencers. As modern as all this may sound, the concept has been around for quite some time. Here in Matthew, Jesus pointed to the influencers of their day – the teachers of the Law and the Pharisees. He notes, “Everything they do is done for men to see." However, God has given us something greater to see – a Savior, whose life, death for us on the cross, and resurrection, has brought us salvation.
