Episode 78: Lessons on government from the Whiskey Rebellion

Skyrocketing inflation, staggering national debt, economic hardship, poverty, civil unrest, unsure elections. Sound familiar? As prevalent as these issues are today, they were especially so during the Whiskey Rebellion of the early 1790s, in which a tax on whiskey meant to pay off debts from the American Revolution led to violent conflict between the newly-formed American government and its citizens.
