The belief in vampires has been around for centuries - long before we had the term. The fear of the dead rising up from their graves and wreaking havoc on our communities has been something that societies put quite a bit of thought into probably since the beginning of humankind. We have evidence dating back thousands of years that the undead terrorized our population in one way or another. Though the term has changed, as have the descriptions and ways of dealing with them, vampires still exist today. They’re in our literature and film, they’re a part of most cultures, and some even believe that the supernatural beings still walk among us.
