In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") are coming together for a special Christmas Eve edition of the Peristyle Podcast, talking about historic rivalry between USC and Notre Dame being paused. After the news broke on Monday that the Trojans and the Fighting Irish wouldn't be playing for the foreseeable future, the reactions came in from all across the college football landscape. Ryan and Connor give their thoughts on why this series is taking a hiatus, how the blame for the pause should be distributed and if they feel these programs will ever meet on the gridiron again.
Reaction from the Trojan family has been mixed, with strong opinions on both sides. We have heard from former players and long-time fans that hate that the series isn't going to continue. We also heard from other fans and major media personalities that feel it is in USC's best interest to drop the game and focus on the Big Ten schedule and making the College Football Playoffs.
The guys also preview the Alamo Bowl game between USC and TCU, from what the Trojans roster could look like and who they will be facing off against in San Antonio. There have also been a few new names that declared they will enter the NCAA Transfer Portal and plenty of Trojan players that have resigned with the team.
