Baron Munchhausen’s exploits brought to life

He was known for his fantastical adventures like riding on a cannonball, travelling to the Moon and fighting a 12-metre crocodile. The outrageous tall tales of Baron Munchausen first emerged in the late 18th century and have been used across theatre and film. In Russia he was made popular in a stop animation in the late 60s, and a 1979 TV film called 'The Very Same Munchhausen'. Now that film is being brought to Russian-speaking audiences in Auckland. It's being staged by Margarita Fomina-Khimich, who's brought the play to life in all its 18th century grandeur.
