Brit Bronson, the oldest of three sisters, was just eight years old when her mother died suddenly while on vacation in Mexico. Brit developed an eating disorder as a means to cope. At nineteen years old she was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Bipolar 1. Brit was extremely lost because her illnesses felt like a death sentence. She never could have imagined her disorders would one day become her superpowers.
Brit struggled for years and attempted suicide. After a long hospitalization from a manic episode, she finally accepted her diagnosis and used tools to cope and manage her mental health condition. Brit admits to struggling with her meds from time to time but she’s accepted her failures have only helped her grow.
Brit has found that besides her Lithium, giving back is the best medicine of all. She is the founder of spaceMVMNT, a creative agency for socially conscious brands and organizations. She is a presenter for NAMI Westside LA's "Ending the Silence" and "In My Own Voice" programs. Brit’s here today to remind us all mental illness is a battle worth fighting, a battle you don’t have to fight alone. And when you do good, you feel good.
