The Battle of Kadesh was fought between Pharaoh of Egypt Ramses II and King Muwatallis of the Hittite Empire in 1285 BCE. A clash between a rising Hittite empire and an Egyptian Pharaoh yearning for a pivotal victory, this battle was a devastating reminder of the brutality of warfare.
