Welcome to the latest episode of Harmonious World, where I interview musicians about how their music helps make the world more harmonious.
Joakim Milder has been the artistic director of the Norrbotten Big Band since 2013 and I’m looking forward to hearing the band play live at the opening concert of the Jazzahead! music festival in April. It was good to chat with him about his own musical background and also the collaborations that make the Norrbotten Big Band such an exciting ensemble.
For anyone intending to come along to Jazzahead!, you can get a sneak preview of the opening concert.
Thanks to Joakim for allowing me to play extracts from performances by the Norrbotten Big Band alongside our conversation.

Don't forget the Quincy Jones quote that sums up why I do this: "Imagine what a harmonious world it would be if every single person, both young and old, shared a little of what he is good at doing."
