The 2023 MLB Draft is underway, and the Boston Red Sox have certainly made noise. With the 14th overall pick, Boston selected catcher Kyle Teel from the University of Virginia. Teel wasn't expected to fall to 14 and was the consensus No. 1 overall catching prospect in the draft class. After consistently loading up on middle infield talent early in previous years, the Red Sox pivoted to a true athlete who could be the catcher of the future.
