THIS WEEK... In a recent study conducted by the Barna Group, 47% of Christian Millennials think it's wrong to share their faith. We were skeptical. Do Christian Millennials really want to avoid sharing their faith, and expressing their beliefs? Or is the idea of evangelism going through a period of redefinition? If you grew up in the church, the act of evangelizing probably paid a significant role in your faith. After all, in the Bible, Jesus does command his disciples to go out unto the world and spread His message, a la the Great Commission. But what exactly does that mean? Does it mean we should be standing on the street corners shouting through a megaphone? Is evangelizing approaching strangers on the street to simply talk about Jesus? Is the wordless book and pre-prepared spiels effective tools in introducing someone to a brand new faith? We recount our own experiences in evangelism and discuss how we personally feel about evangelizing, and offer many thoughts on the study that was conducted by Barna (spoiler alert: we do not agree).
