Hot Topic: Music therapy in the rehabilitation of persons with Parkinson’s disease

Ms. Nicole Duff spends time with Mrs. Cassandra Mulcahy and Prof. Stefan Mainka, both of whom are qualified music therapists. They discuss the benefits of music therapy in treating both motor and non-motor symptoms in persons with Parkinson's disease. Different forms of music therapy are discussed, along with the physiology behind them. Lastly, possible future directions of music therapy in the rehabilitation of persons with Parkinson's disease were explored.
