We are so excited to welcome our guest for today, Nate Martinez. Nate has spent the past 20 years performing, recording and producing music. Over the past seven years his pursuit has broadened and he began seeking out how music and, more importantly, how sound can dramatically shift our perspective, raise our consciousness, and even heal us.
In 2011, Nate began studying shamanism and intuitive healing which eventually led him to become certified in sound therapy. Then, in 2014 he created NTM Sound as a way to share his knowledge and experience with others and a way to share sound therapy treatments to individuals and sound baths for the community.
At NTM Sound, Nate uses Biosonic tuning forks, Himalayan singing bowls, overtone singing, breathwork, shamanic drumming, and crystal quartz bowls. He uses these tools to provide a safe and relaxing environment where you can focus on what is out of balance in your body and life to bring you towards a place of harmony. Currently, Nate leads regular sound bath meditations across New York City in addition to facilitating workshops and sound baths for organizations and companies as part of wellness initiatives. He is a public speaker specializing in conversations on sound therapy as a path to mindfulness and the art of listening.
Nate’s work in sound meditation and sound therapy has been integral in growing an awareness of the field, and he has been featured in Vogue, Prevention, New York magazine, the Huffington Post, Well + Good, Yahoo Health, and MindBodyGreen, among others.
In this episode we dive deep into: intuition, why listening isn't just auditory, letting go, reclaiming your voice, and so much more!
If you would like to know more about Nate and the work he is doing please do yourself a favor and visit him at ntmsound.com or visit him on instagram at ntmsoundhealing.
