The Texas Longhorns baseball team went to Palo Alto for a Super Regional for a matchup against the Stanford Cardinal for a shot to advance to Omaha for the College World Series.
After a come-from-behind win in the opener, the Longhorns couldn't get over the hump and dropped back-to-back games to the Cardinal, ending their season one win shy of Omaha. The loss to the Cardinal officially brings an end to the Longhorns' 2022-23 athletic year, with a second-place finish in the Director's Cup standings behind the aforementioned Cardinal. The strong finish wouldn't have been possible without the efforts of the women's track and field team, turning in yet another national championship headlined by the stellar performance of Julien Alfred.
