Emma and David need a fresh start. After losing a pregnancy, they find the perfect house—a beautiful 1920s Colonial at an impossibly low price. The realtor is eager. Too eager. Their first night, Emma hears footsteps in the hallway but can't make herself open the door. By morning, their moving boxes have been opened, searched, rearranged. And tucked among their belongings, Emma finds something that doesn't belong: a child's drawing of the house, with a dark figure watching from an upstairs window.
