Stranded in Death Valley: Six Days of Impossible Decisions

In April 2021, experienced hikers Emily Henkel and Alexander Lofgren set out to explore Death Valley National Park. They had maps, emergency gear, a backcountry plan, and years of outdoor experience. Then an unexpected problem left them stranded in one of the harshest environments in North America.

As their situation deteriorates, every decision carries life-or-death consequences. Should they stay with their vehicle? Should they risk hiking for help? How do you survive when rescue may never come?
