Michel Foucault (1926–1984) was a French philosopher, historian, social theorist, and literary critic, widely regarded as one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century. His work explored the relationship between power, knowledge, and social institutions, and he challenged many traditional ideas about how societies function.
